| Major changes seem to be underway for Google's search index and algorithms. The current Google Update is much different than any before it. It is still too early to tell what the scope of the changes and final result will be. Some speculate that Google may be moving to a continously updating index, rather than once a month. The best place to learn about what is going on at Google is the Google News forum at WebmasterWorld. Participating in this forum is 'GoogleGuy', a Google employee who answers questions and provides as much information as he can. With the unprecedented update taking place over the past week, thousands of messages have been posted on the subject. Messages range from observations, speculation, analysis, to complaints. Every once in a a while GoogleGuy will appear with some useful information -- but it can be hard to find amongst all the voices. To help, I have started to post his comments on a website (in blog format): GoogleGuy Says. |
