It looks like Six Apart has quietly launched a preview version of their hosted blogging service called TypePad (no mention of it on Six Log or on the MT home page).
Until now, Movable Type blogs have been restricted to the somewhat technical, because you needed to find your own own host and install the Perl application yourself - something which is beyond the knowledge and skill level of amny Internet users. With TypePad, MT blogs are available to all. But don't expect TypePad to quickly exceed Blogger in number of users, even though the software is much, much better - because TypePad is not free. There are three packages, starting at $4.95 a month, which includes hosting. Good value, if you ask me.
